Led by Peppers, the 2017 draft could be promising for U-M

As one NFL draft cycle ended on Saturday, the next one starts and for Michigan, the 2017 draft could be an explosive opportunity.

Michigan matched its highest total since 2008 this year with three draftees, but could soar past that next year, starting near top.

The Wolverines’ first pick could come very early with do-everything Jabrill Peppers, who The Sporting News listed this weekend among its top 17 players to watch for next year’s draft and Bleacher Report put at No. 8 in its early mock draft. While he may not work at a set position this year for U-M, moving from linebacker to safety to cornerback, Peppers will be able to show off his skills everywhere.
