Harbaugh’s plan to recruit all over works out

Throughout the 2016 recruiting cycle, Jim Harbaugh made news.

The most unusual part? Most of it happened outside the state of Michigan.

When Harbaugh took over as U-M’s coach at the end of 2015, he looked at the recruiting department and made significant changes.

More workers, more research and preparation for unofficial visits, and innovative approaches with mailers and graphics.

Possibly more important was a different look at geography, making contact in football hotbeds thanks to the location of most of the “Summer Swarm” satellite camps: one in Alabama, two in Florida, two in Texas, two in California and one in Easton, Pa.
