Durkin learns from Harbaugh to be himself

CHICAGO – Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh can fill a room — even when he’s not there in person.

New Maryland head coach D.J. Durkin has learned this repeatedly throughout his career, and he’s still living with it. As the former Stanford and Michigan assistant sat down for his session at Tuesday’s Big Ten media days, most questions directed his way were about Harbaugh, his former boss at those stops.

“It’s been a wide range of those questions, but it’s, ‘What have I taken from him? What have I learned?’ All those sorts of things,” Durkin said.
