Brady Hoke Wouldn't Have Punted

Now headlining his own SiriusXM College Sports show with co-host Mark Packer, former Wolverines head coach Brady Hoke criticized Jim Harbaugh on Tuesday for his decision to punt on the play which ultimately led to Michigan State's game-winning fumble return before time expired on Saturday.

"Personally, if we have the No. 1 defense in the nation I'm going to test those guys," Hoke said on Tuesday, per Angelique S. Chengelis of the Detroit News. "You've got to play to the strength of your football team, and the strength of the Michigan football team all year long has been their defense."

Hoke added that he would have either run the ball with De'Veon Smith or attempted a play-action pass. He even critiqued the punt formation Michigan used on the fateful botched play.

"No. 1, I think the one gunner to the field should have been in a little bit more and if you're going to punt it there's ways to protect it a little better," he said.

Jim Harbaugh Shoots Down Colts Rumors

Harbaugh's only seven games into his tenure in Ann Arbor, yet there's already rumors surfacing that he'd entertain offers elsewhere if the right opportunity presents itself. The latest rumor to hit the Internet links Harbaugh to the team he starred at quarterback for in the pros, the Indianapolis Colts.

While Harbaugh wouldn't comment on the rumors directly, he did shoot them down in roundabout fashion:

Rumors of Harbaugh's potential interest in the Colts have surfaced in concert with rumblings of internal tension between current Indy head coach Chuck Pagano and the team's front office.

Michigan On Delance's Shortlist

Four-star 2016 Mesquite (TX) offensive tackle Jean Delance has named three distinct favorites for his pledge, with a fourth school hanging out on the fringes.

"Alabama, Michigan and Texas and I'm still considering A&M a bit," he said of his current shortlist, per 247Sports. "I'm taking my official to Michigan on November 28th for the game against Ohio State and then I'm going to visit Alabama on December 13th. I'm definitely taking one to Texas, but the others will be in January probably."

Texas is considered by most to be the leader going away for the #12 offensive tackle in the nation, but Michigan remains squarely in the hunt.

"Coach Harbaugh is going to treat you like his own once you get there and they're going to work as hard as they can to get you on the field as quickly as possible to make the program the way they want to make it," Delance said about what he likes about UM. "That's what he's been preaching to me right now. He's been calling me two or three times a week. He's been on me hard trying to get me to be part of their program. I like that."
