Michigan Rolls Over Florida For 41-7 Blowout Citrus Bowl Win

The Michigan Wolverines flexed the defensive muscle in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl, completing shutting down the Florida Gators on their way to a dominant 41-7 win.

Running back Drake Johnson got the scoring started for Michigan in the first quarter to give the Wolverines the early lead, but Florida responded with a long drive of their own to tie the game. From there, it was all Michigan as they put up 34 unanswered points to close the game.

Senior quarterback Jake Rudock finished his career in style for Michigan, throwing for 278 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. Wide receiver Jehu Chesson also put forth a fantastic performance, catching five passes for 118 yards and a touchdown.

The Wolverines never had any trouble moving the ball against a Florida defense that was very good coming into this game as five of their seven scoring drives went for 70 yards or more.

Florida, on the other hand, was unable to get anything going on offense for most of the game picking up just 273 total yards in this game - 130 of which came on their first two drives of the game.

The win pushes Michigan to 10-3 on the year, giving them their first 10-win season since 2011. Ths is also their first bowl victory since they won the Sugar Bowl over Virginia Tech that season.

Florida finishes the year with a 10-4 record in head coach Jim McElwain's first season.
