Michigan Football News: Wolverines To Flip 2018 TE Target From Alabama?

The Michigan Wolverines are working to put the finishing touches on their 2017 recruiting class ahead of National Signing Day on Feb. 1, but they are still making a big impression on one of their top targets in the 2018 class.

Four-star tight end Malcolm Epps (Houston, TX) has been committed to Alabama since Feb. 2016, but is very interested in Michigan - so interested that he already knows he will make an official visit to the school in the fall.

"I know Michigan is for sure going to get an official visit. That's for sure," he told Rivals.com. "They are in my top five right now, which is Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, UCLA, and Florida State.

"Michigan is my dad's favorite team so they are someone I've paid attention to," Epps told Rivals. "I'm not really sure why he likes them but he always liked The Big House growing up. He's from Texas so I don't really know how it happened. Coach (Jim) Harbaugh puts tight ends in the league too so I like that."

Epps also told Scout.com that he is only "50 percent" committed to Alabama, leaving the door open for him to flip his commitment.

The 6-foot-6, 215-pounder is ranked as the No. 6 tight end and No. 126 overall prospect in the 2018 class by the 247sports Composite Rankings.
