Michigan's head coach said Saturday during his annual quarterbacks camp in Ann Arbor that he plans making a formal offer to both Barack and Michelle Obama to be honorary football captains in 2017.

"We're making those asks, those official asks," Harbaugh said. "Yeah, we're in the process of making an official ask."

Harbaugh has gotten several marquee names to be honorary captains since taking over the Wolverines, most notably Michael Jordan and Tom Brady this past season. Derek Jeter has also been involved in several honorary roles.

Harbaugh as met the Obamas on several occasions, including this past week during a congressional hearing for the Legal Services Corporation.

He has also worked with Michelle Obama numerous times on different education initiatives while the Obamas were in office.
