The Most Elaborate NCAA Football Signing Day Announcements Ever

As of late, it has become quite popular for high profile college football recruits to make their collegiate announcement in more and more elaborate ways. It used to be that recruits would pick between two or three hats and have that be the big deciding moment on TV.

Well now players are doing everything from bringing live replicas of their new schools mascot, dressing up in costumes, or making custom clothing to grab more attention on signing day.

So without further adieu we bring you some of the best National Signing Day Apparel of All Time.

2013:

Player: Reuben Foster

Position: LB

School: Alabama

Foster came to National Signing Day in one of the most elaborate costumes that we have seen of all time. Foster decided that instead of wearing an Alabama hat or shirt, that he would dress up like his coach Nick Saban, straw hat, vest and everything else.

Player: Stacey Coley

Team: Miami

Position: WR

High profile recruit Stacey Coley took a more traditional route on signing day, using the classic pick a hat method. But instead of just picking any ordinary hat, Coley pick an orange and green hat that reads "Swag." Welp, sound the alarms, looks like we have a badass over here.

Player: Montravius Adams

School: Auburn

Position: DT

Adams wins lots of creativity points in our book with a custom, spray painted t-shirt. Not only is it painted with "Auburn' and "Tigers" on his, it also has a picture of himself with a shit-eating-grin in his brand new Auburn Tigers jersey. I really hope the seniors make him wear that shirt to practice every day.

Player: Robert Nkemdiche

School: Ole Miss

Position: DE

The number one overall player in the country Robert Knemdiche decided to take a completely different route than his fellow recruits and decided to dress as class/fratty as humanly possible. Robert looks just dapper in a pair of suspenders, and for that we applaud him for being a Southern gentleman and a scholar.

2012:

Player: Landon Collins

School: Alabama

Position: Safety

There was much buzz around Landon Collins signing because he was the #1 safety in the country and he was picking between arch rivals LSU and Alabama. Upon making his decision, he put on a pair of 'Bama receiver gloves, which are pretty cool in their ownright. But even better, these sweet gloves were overshadowed by his mom saying on national television that she does not support his decision and will forever root for LSU. Way to go mom!

2011:

Player: Isaiah Crowell

School: Georgia

Position: RB

Isaiah Crowell, the #4 overall player in the country in 2001. took the signing day announcement farther than anyone else ever. Upon announcing that he will be attending Georgia, he not only puts on a UGA hat, but also brings out the most adorable baby bulldog. Even better if you listen closely and you hear someone say "Swear to god thats a real dog???"

2008:

Player: Dre Kirkpatrick

School: Alabama

Position: CB

There is nothing better than getting your chance to make your decision on national television and outright dissing the school that you are not going to attend. What is even better, is when you call out Texas and say that they have "No swagger" and then you put on an ugly hat that really does not have any swagger. Could not get any more classic that Dre Kirkpatrick's joke of a signing day.

2001:

Player: Kevin Jones

School: Virginia Tech

Position: RB

Sadly we do not have a picture of it, but when top RB recruit Kevin Jones went into the gym for his signing day he quietly walked in wearing a Penn State jersey to the delight of all of those around him. When it was his turn to sign his letter of intent, Jones quickly ripped off the Penn State jersey, revealing a maroon jersey beneath, and announced that he would actually go to Virginia Tech instead.
