Report: Les Miles Says He's Not Considering Michigan Job

LSU head football coach Les Miles said after practice on Monday afternoon that he is not considering the Michigan job, according to the Advocate, but declined to be directly quoted about the position.

Michigan officials had reached out to Miles' agent about the job after they fired Brady Hoke, but Miles did not pursue the opening.

Miles just finished his 10th regular season at LSU, and had also been linked to the open job at his alma mater in 2007 and 2010 before the school hired Rich Rodriguez (2007) and Hoke (2010).

The Advocate reported on Sunday that Miles' assistants had not been told anything from Miles regarding Michigan. He was instead working on contract extensions for his staff, as five assistant coaches have contracts that expire in March.

LSU finished with a disappointing 8-4 record on the season, marking Miles' second-worst season in Baton Rouge (the Tigers went 7-5 during the regular season in 2008). He's complied a 103-28 record while coaching LSU and has won two SEC titles and one national championship in 2007.

LSU will face Notre Dame in the Music City Bowl on December 30. Michigan finished with a dismal 5-7 record and missed a bowl game for the first time since the 2009-10 season.
