Redemption: Michigan Crushes Appalachian State 52-14

The 2007 nightmare was not duplicated today in Ann Arbor - this is not the Armanti Edwards-led, 3-straight FCS National Champions that strolled into Michigan Stadium in 2007 and shocked the #5 Wolverines. This App State squad went 4-8 last season, is in their fist season in FBS (aka D1) football, and was no match for the Wolverines.

Michigan did anything it wanted on offense, passing for 210 yards, while rushing for 345 yards behind a revitalized offensive line.

Devin Gardner played just about 2.5 quarters, going 13-14 for 173 yards and 3 TD, all 3 to WR Devin Funchess. Funchess, sporting a new #1 jersey, was catching everything en route to 7 catches for 95 yards and 3 TD's, all in the 1st half.

The Michigan running game was very efficient, doing anything they wanted against a mismatched App State defense - 345 yards and 3 TD rushing, with Derrick Green leading the way with 170 yards and 1 TD on 15 carries.
