Michigan sending jerseys back into retirement

Starting in 2011, Michigan introduced its Legends Jerseys program, beginning with Junior Hemingway wearing a patch on his No. 21 in honor of former Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard. The practice was expanded the following year, bringing all but Tom Harmon’s No. 98 out of retirement, with that jersey joining the active numbers in 2013. The Legends Jersey program is now officially coming to an end.

The University of Michigan announced on Tuesday that the jerseys will be returned into retirement in a ceremony against Ohio State on Nov. 28.
