Michigan football rumors: Wolverines considering wearing Maize football jerseys

I have recently received some information from a long time trusted source and confirmed with a 2nd source that the Michigan football team is very likely to wear an all maize jersey, with either maize or blue pants, for their Sept. 7th matchup vs. Notre Dame. The game against the BCS runner-up Irish will be the second night game in Michigan Stadium history.

The move is clearly another stroke of marketing by AD Dave Brandon, one that will drive further conversation locally and nationally on the Michigan football program, while also selling thousands of jerseys of the new look.

From what I have been told, Michigan nearly made the move 2 years ago in the 1st night game against Notre Dame, but instead opted for the less radical blue with maize shoulder stripes as a way to prep fans for seeing different jerseys from the team.

What will the jerseys look like? From what my sources says, the school is planning on a "traditional" all maize look, pants and jerseys, with simple blue numbers, with no outlines on them. Some close to the situation are pushing for blue pants, an inverse of the traditional home uniforms.

My source also said that the maize jerseys are going to become to Michigan what green jerseys are for Notre Dame: the 'big game' special uniforms that they wear every 2-3 years going forward. The image shown is one that was shared with me that apparently was the artist sketch of how the jersey would have looked if they were to wear the maize jerseys in the past. If they don't get too gimmicky, I have no problem with what I see.

So, do YOU like the maize look?
