Wait, what? The season is over already!? Good lord what we will all do for the next 8 months until the September 1 showdown in Dallas vs. defending National Champs Alabama. Well, I guess this only thing we can do, relating to Michigan football, is speculate on recruiting, next year's team and whether or not Denard can win the 2012 Heisman.

For my first article of the post-season, let's focus on the latest rumors swirling around the back-alleys of the interwebs surrounding how Michigan will finish the 2012 recruiting class.

Lets start with WA OL 4-star Josh Garnett.

As I tweeted this week the rumors regarding Garnett and Michigan are deafening. I was sent a bevy of info from folks this week telling me what they were hearing on the powerful OL. So, as always, I reached out to my most trusted sources. The word no Garnett right now is that he has told several 2012 Michigan recruits that he will end up in Ann Arbor, even going as far as making roommate plans with a fellow OL that has already committed.

In addition to the above facts, I have a friend who works at ESPN recruiting that was around the Under Armour All-American game practices and game, in which Garnett played, that said all he heard when speaking to recruits that knew Josh, was that he was almost 100% going to Michigan. With this info, I reached out to my main man inside the U-M AD to get the thoughts of the U-M staff.

"They have good feelings on Garnett. A few other kids have mentioned that he has basically said he was coming to Michigan, but he hasn't said that to the staff yet. So, don't count your chickens before they hatch . .  but everyone here is optimistic. Wow, can you imagine the insane O-line talent we will have for the next 4-5 years? Should be awesome to watch."

At this point, I would say Michigan has a very good chance of landing Garnett, the #42 player overall by Scout.com

What is the story with Yuri Wright and Michigan?

Well, to be as subtle as I can, this kid has turned out to be a tad of a headcase and Michigan coaches were extremely turned off in the last few days when monitoring Yuri's twitter account.

What was on his twitter account? Well, you can look him up, (tweets are protected) but, he has made some extremely immature, racist and sexist (and downright disgusting) comments that no player that wants to go to Michigan should ever make. I was told that in the past few days, the coaches took a deep look at who is left on the board and after reading the tweets, one U-M staffer went as far to say "This kid sounds like an 80's Miami player. What a punk." Yuri is no longer being recruited by Michigan and he was asked to not visit the campus as he had previously planned.

Any surprise recruits?

I had, on good knowledge, been told again that Michigan is going to do their best to sign a 'project' QB/Athlete in this class. The staff is looking at 10+ prospects that could potentially play QB, but if it doesn't work out, could play S, CB or WR. There are a bunch of names out there, but one to watch is Cleveland St. Ignatius QB Eric Williams.

Latest on: Sam Grant - Lakewood, OH TE from the same HS as Kyle Kalis

Simply put, Sam will be a part of the 2012 recruiting class. I expect Grant to commit to Michigan around signing day and.

How about Armani Reeves?

The 4 star CB from Massachusetts has been committed to Penn State since August, but has been looking around for a couple months in light of the Penn State scandal. Reeves will be in Ann Arbor THIS weekend and the Michigan coaches and players are planning tp put on the full court press. The major selling point will be: 1. Be the 'next' Blake Countess 2. Play for a Big Ten power for the next four years. Michigan is at the top and getting better. 3. Look at the talent we have coming in that you will be playing with (especially the defensive recruits)

Will it be enough to sway Reeves? Tough to say but I like our chances vs. the sales pitch that PSU is giving right now and I like our salesmen a WHOLE lot more.
