Michigan Football Rumors: Is Michigan's AD running the football program?

The latest batch of Michigan football rumors are raising questions as to whether or not Michigan Athletic Director Dave Brandon has taken complete charge of the Michigan football program.

In an interview on Monday with WDIV-TV in Detroit, Brandon dismissed the rumors straight-away, expressing confusion about why the rumors are swirling in the first place.

"I'm not angered (by it), just confused as to why anybody could draw that conclusion." The Michigan Athletic Director went on to say, "I'm not a football coach. I have no experience as a football coach. I've never run a football program. How that conclusion was reached is beyond me."

The rumors have been circling ever since Brandon passionately defended head coach Brady Hoke in a 1000-word plus blog post in November. He is also known to dissect game film with the coaching staff on Sundays, leading to speculation that his role with the Michigan football program may be more than meets the eye.
