Michigan Football Rumors: Did Damien Harris decommit because of Borges firing?

In Michigan football rumors today, it looks like we have a clearer picture of why five-star running back and top Michigan recruiting target Damien Harris decommitted from the Wolverines earlier this week.

Although the replacement of offensive coordinator Al Borges with former Alabama OC Doug Nussmeier was met with very solid reviews from most of Michigan's recruiting targets, Rivals.com's #1 running back and #5 player in the nation was not one of them.

Damien Harris voiced his displeasure with the Borges firing via Twitter on January 8th, tweeting "Man..... I can't believe this about Coach Borges." The 5-foot-11, 205 pound halfback was originally recruited by Al Borges, who served on the same coaching staff as Harris' high school coach, Jon Clark, at Auburn in 2007.

Other teams rumored to be in the running for Damien Harris include the rival Ohio State Buckeyes and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Harris has yet to visit either of those schools.
