Michigan Football Recruiting: Wolverines Offer Scholarship To 8th Grader

Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh isn't afraid to recruit athletes early in their pre-college careers. Make that really early.

Per Mark Snyder of the Detroit Free Press, "according to the Daytona Beach (Fla.) News-Journal, the Wolverines this week offered a scholarship to eighth-grade receiver Blake Hinson."

Why exactly did Harbaugh offer a prospect who hasn't even hit high school yet? Well, Hinson is already 6-foot-5 and 205 pounds and is already developing the mark of an elite five-star prospect down the road.

Oddly enough, Michigan isn't the first school to have offered Hinson a scholarship. The talented two-sport athlete already holds offers from Miami and North Carolina.

"You can never say (getting an offer) gets old," he told the Dayton Beach News-Journal. "It's a different school, a different tradition every time. It's just fun to know who wants you to play for their squad."
