Michigan Football Recruiting: Wolverines Offer 3-Star Louisville Commit, Looking For In-State Flip

The Michigan Wolverines extended an offer to 2016 three-star linebacker David Reese (Farmington, MI) on Friday, in hopes that the Wolverines' position as an in-state school will put the program in prime position for a flip of the Louisville commit.

Reese is currently rated a high three-star prospect on Rivals.com, which ranks him as the #17 inside linebacker nationally and No. 11 prospect overall in the state of Michigan for 2016. On 247Sports.com, he's currently ranked as the #23 inside linebacker in the nation and the #18 prospect in his state.

Standing at 6-foot-1 and 225 pounds, Reese also holds offers from Indiana and multiple non-power conference schools from around the Midwest.

While many consider him solid to Louisville (as part of a package deal with Farmington High teammate Desmond Fitzpatrick), there's no counting out Michigan's reinvigorated in-state recruiting work inside the state under the guidance of new head coach Jim Harbaugh.
