Michigan Football Recruiting Roundup - January 22nd Update

Some big news today for Michigan football fans - let's get right down to business:

Zach Gentry

Earlier this week, Jim Harbaugh made a personal, in-home visit to Gentry, a 4-Star QB from New Mexico. While that wouldn't be big news on its own, it's especially interesting because Gentry (pictured above) committed to Texas months ago...and had turned away recruiting pitches from Alabama and other heavy hitters when they tried getting him to re-think his commitment.

Now, Gentry is set for an official visit to UM this coming weekend. The 6'7 Pro-Style QB also removed 'Committed to Texas' from his Twitter bio, and an in-home visit with Charlie Strong has been rescheduled. Where there's smoke, there's fire...and there's an awful lot of smoke here.

Iman Marshall

After yesterday's rumblings that Jabrill Peppers is switching to safety to 'make room' for Marshall at corner, Michigan has officially scheduled an in-home visit with the Long Beach, CA 5-Star for next Monday.

Marshall already took his official visit to Michigan a few days ago, and it reportedly went very well. While USC is still leading the race for his signature, UM isn't out of this one yet.

John Kelly

The 3-Star ATH from Oak Park will announce his decision later today, with Michigan, Michigan State, Tennessee and Minnesota still in the running. An RB/DB in high school, Kelly had been impressed by Tennessee during a recent visit...but their OC leaving today certainly doesn't make him more likely to commit there. The Wolverines are considered the leaders, but this one could go in any direction.
