The Michigan Wolverines received a commitment from athlete Rashad Weaver (Cooper City, FL), who announced his decision on Twitter.
Weaver said he chose Michigan over Syracuse and Illinois, and said Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh was excited about the decision.
"He gave me almost a full yell," Weaver said. "He was ecstatic."
"First and foremost the academics," Weaver said when describing what went into his decision. "Football compliments academics so they have the best of both there since their football program is good, too."
The 6'5", 245-pounder will play either tight end or defensive end at the next level.
