Michigan Football Recruiting: 3-Star Safety Devin Gil Commits To Wolverines

Three-star Hollywood (FL) Flanagan safety Devin Gil verbally committed to the Michigan Wolverines on Friday, making seventeen verbal commits for new head coach Jim Harbaugh in the Class of 2016.

"I see myself making a big change for Michigan and helping them win," Gil said, via 247Sports. "They have the staff that's willing to win and we are going to cause a lot of problems in the Big Ten."

A former Miami Hurricanes commit, Gil visited Ann Arbor this past weekend and liked what he saw.

"Just the fans and student body was great there," Gil said. "I loved the academic part. And to see 'The Big House.'"

He'll join his Flanagan teammate, safety Josh Metellus, who committed to Michigan Wednesday.

"We are a great combination," Gil said. "Our connection and just how we communicate. I wouldn't want to (go to college and play together) with anybody else."

Michigan also is making a run at top linebacker target Devin Bush, another one of Gil's Flanagan teammates.

"We are trying our best to get him, too," Gil said. "I think it's between Michigan and Florida State. He will decide later in the process."

With the #63 safety in the Class of 2016 (per 247Sports) in tow, Michigan has strengthened a consensus Top recruiting class heading into the long summer ahead.
