New Michigan Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh is casting a wide net when it comes to building his recruiting class for 2016, and that includes taking a shot at prospects in the Pac-12 Conference's backyard.
Per 247Sports, "Portland (OR) Central Catholic three-star athlete LaMar Winston confirmed to Wolverine247 that Michigan is a school he plans to take an official visit to."
Winston recently confirmed that the in-state Oregon Ducks are the leaders for his signature, with the Washington Huskies reportedly trailing close behind. However, a visit to Ann Arbor could be enough for that to change dramatically.
Michigan is currently recruiting Winston strictly as an athlete, and he could easily be slotted in at linebacker, safety, wide receiver or even tight end when all is said and done.
