Mark Dantonio Smuggery, Disdain Among Michigan Fans Eclipses Tressel Levels

For many a Michigan fan, Jim Tressel's good guy routine was both puke and hatred inducing. Tressel's spot at the top of the Michigan Hate Pyramid was so secure that it was unthinkable that someone would ever challenge him. Well, the unthinkable actually happened and we're now almost a year removed from the scandal that turned Tressel from Supreme Commander of Ohio to University of Akron campus tour guide.  ("...and here's is the student rec center, and that concludes our tour.  Okay, I will give all of you $17, no, I have $18 on me for each of you if you put your name on this LOI to the school of marketing. Oh, you want to play hardball?  I'll throw in my Subway Club card.  One more punch and you get a free 6" seafood sensation. Who's ready to sign?")

Who could possibly replace our disdain for all things spectacled and sweater vested? After these comments today, I think you already know the answer to that question:

Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio isn't too concerned with all the attention in-state rival Michigan has garnered with an 11-2 record last season in Brady Hoke's first season — and the Wolverines' recruiting success.

"We're laying in the weeds," Dantonio told ESPN.com in a story Wednesday. "We've beat Michigan the last four years. So where's the threat?"

In recognition of Dantonio's ascension to the top of the Michigan Hate Pyramid, I give you this:

I can't remember who said it, but I heard somewhere that, "Pride comes before the fall." I love how Mark repeats the quote like he believes it's attributed to him by Bartlett, dick.  At least Tressel pretended he had respect for Michigan.  I don't care what he said in the lockeroom, this man had the decency to say the right things in public.  Like a woman who's cheating on you with several different people, yet is very affectionate and kind to you at all times she's not banging someone else, Tressel at least had the decency to fake it.  There's something to be said for that, and it's the main reason Akron has already enrolled 75,000 students for the 2012 fall term.
