John O’Korn went to the same high school in Fort Lauderdale, St. Thomas Aquinas, as Jake Rudock. Before and after that, they’ve taken very different paths but ended up in similar situations as Harbaugh free agents and presumptive starters at Michigan for the next three years. O’Korn grew up in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania and moved to Florida before his junior year in high school.
Both Rudock and O’Korn were benched last year. I think coaching was a key factor in both cases. The 6 foot 4 inch 220 pound O’Korn was good enough as a freshman to earn American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year honors completing 58 percent of his passes for 3,117 yards with 28 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
