Senior Day: Big Ten East Division Title & Trip to Indy on the Line against Penn State

EAST LANSING, Mich. – It may appear that Michigan State beat Ohio State on Michael Geiger’s 41-yard field goal as time expired in Ohio Stadium last Saturday night. It even says so in the box score.

But the Spartan seniors say – and strength and conditioning coach Ken Mannie may be heartened to hear this – that the game was won in large part, as so many others before it, months ago.

To be sure, Michigan State, No. 5 in this week’s College Football Playoff rankings, wouldn’t be winning at the rate is has been since 2010 without the commitment and effort it takes place during spring practice, summer workouts, preseason camp and in-season drills.
