Seidel: Dantonio stays calm as storm threat grows worse vs. Michigan

EAST LANSING – Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio has tried to project calm and confidence in spite of the storm, like a weathercaster reporting from a hurricane as the lights flicker and the rain pelts his face and trees fall down.

The worst part of the storm, according to most forecasts, has yet to arrive — that would come on Saturday when the Spartans play Michigan.

“My belief is that — I guess in all honesty, when things go down, it’s best that you have somebody steady at the top,” Dantonio said. “And that’s what I’m going to be.
