Offense Tops Defense in Second Preseason Scrimmage, 39-33

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The offense topped the defense in overtime, 39-33, under the lights at Spartan Stadium on Friday night in the second jersey scrimmage of preseason camp.

The scrimmage, which utilized a modified scoring system, was 141 plays long (including special teams) and lasted for two-and-a-half hours.

“There was a lot of excitement out there tonight,” said head coach Mark Dantonio. “I thought we played very well. We got the game to overtime, so that’s always good. I thought we did a lot of good things. There’s a lot of emotion and a lot of energy on our football team right now.
