Michigan State Recruiting: Constructing the ideal 2017 basketball class

Now that the 2016 basketball recruiting class is pretty much sewn up, outside of the potential addition of Taurean Thompson, Michigan State and head coach Tom Izzo are looking forward to a potentially loaded group in 2017.

There could be upwards of six or seven scholarships available in 2017, meaning that Izzo could go after his best class ever, beating out the uber-talented 2016 group.

Looking at the potential departures after this season, plus the possible one leftover scholarship from 2016, Michigan State will be losing Alvin Ellis, Gavin Schilling, Eron Harris and Ben Carter to graduation as well as potentially Miles Bridges or Josh Langford to early entry into the NBA draft — for the sake of this list, we will say only one leaves.
