One of the dominoes has fallen in Michigan State’s recruiting class for the upcoming 2017-18 season as Brandon McCoy announced his decision to commit to UNLV.
The five-star McCoy was one of three targets that Tom Izzo and his staff were after along with Mark Smith and Brian Bowen. The 6-11 big man would’ve been a nice addition to the Spartans front court already with Nick Ward and Gavin Schilling, but now they’ll have to wait at least another year before getting help in terms of that area.
According to sites like 247Sports, Oregon and Michigan State had better odds of getting McCoy (Arizona and San Diego State were also in the mix).
