Start scouting out potential trip packages to Arlington, Spartans fans. VegasInsider.com has your Michigan State football team listed as the favorites to win this season's national championship - the first under the new construction of the College Football Playoff.

After opening the season at 30-to-1 odds to win it all, the Spartans are now 13-to-2 to hoist the trophy when all is said and done after the season.

"When we first came here, it was about trying to get the team in order, then it was about trying to establish a program by going to bowl games every year,'' said coach Mark Dantonio, via MLive.com. Dantonio has done just that, leading Michigan State to a 69-30 during his tenure with appearances in a school-record seven straight bowl games.

Now, Dantonio has his Spartans positioned as the favorites to win the national title, over #2 Florida State (7-to-1) and #1 Mississippi State (7-to-1).

Here's the rest of Michigan State's regular-season schedule. Note that they would also play in the Big Ten title game should they win out.

Oct. 25 vs. Michigan

Nov. 8 vs. Ohio State

Nov. 15 at Maryland

Nov. 22 vs. Rutgers

Nov. 29 at Penn State

Also jumping on the Michigan State bandwagon is CBS expert Jerry Palm, who has Michigan State listed as one of his four projected teams in the inaugural College Football Playoff.
