Trending Marlins News: Marlins wives defeat Rays wives in charity softball game

In today's Marlins news update, the Miami Marlins' wives now have bragging rights over the wives of the Tampa Bay Rays, after beating them 10-9 in a charity softball game on Monday.

This was the 4th annual Citrus Cup softball game between the two squads with donations benefiting RBI Miami and Autism Speaks Tampa Bay.

Per Joe Frisaro and Maria Torres of MLB.com, "the Marlins' last-minute practice in the Marlins Park parking lot was rained out, but Juan Garciga, Miami's manager of player relations and youth baseball and the Lady Marlins skipper, wasn't worried about his team's chances."

Garciga echoed those sentiments after the contest.

"Some of the girls were a little concerned about that, but thankfully it didn't stop us from bringing our hot sticks," said Garciga.

The four-game set between the two MLB in-state rivals began on Tuesday in Miami - with the Marlins defeating the Rays 3-1.
