At the ACC’s Kickoff event earlier this month, the Hurricanes were picked to finish third in conference’s the Coastal Division. And when the first major national preseason poll was released on Thursday, Miami found itself on the outside looking in – but still with some votes in their favor.
The Hurricanes, who went 6-7 last year, were ranked 37th in the preseason coaches poll. The lone Florida team to appear in the top 25 was defending ACC champion Florida State, which was ranked eighth. Defending national champion Ohio State took the top spot with TCU, Alabama, Baylor and Oregon rounding out the top five.
