Miami was ranked 8/10 in final polls of the 2016 regular season. The Hurricanes earned the third seed in the south last season. UM lost five players from last season. The biggest losses were the star backcourt of All-ACC guards Sheldon McClellan and Angel Rodriguez and Center Tonye Jakiri.
McClelland and Rodriguez were the core of the 2015-16 team. McClellan was second team All-ACC and Rodriguez third. Rodriguez is one of UM’s best players ever from Miami.
McClellan was the team’s leading scorer at 16.
