Heat Rumors Roundup: Miami Has A Shot With Kevin Durant And Will Pursue Al Horford?

The NBA Draft is over and the Miami Heat have turned their complete attention to the start of free agency on July 1. The Heat have cap space and will try to add at least one big name this offseason. Here are all the latest Heat rumors and news and you need to know:

Miami's Chances With Durant?
Like nearly every team in the NBA, the Heat want Kevin Durant. But just how good their chances are at landing him is unclear. One agent thinks the Heat are one of the fewer teams that could steal him away from the Thunder.

"So Golden State and Miami become the only real players," one agent told The Oklahoman. "It's too hard to justify a move to Los Angeles (Lakers) or New York because they are not close to winning. Houston's out."

However, Anthony Slater, also of The Oklahoman, puts the Heat in the longshot hopeful category. While Pat Riley is a convincing man and Miami is a great city, Durant might have better luck chasing a title elsewhere.

Heat To Pursue Al Horford?
Add the Heat to the growing list of teams that will pursue Al Horford this offseason.

If the Heat make a run and land Horford, it will likely come at the cost of Hassan Whiteside. With Chris Bosh also on the roster, the Heat simply can't afford to have three bigs making max money. Both Horford and Whiteside are likely to land a max deal this offseason.
