By trading Shabazz Napier and Zoran Dragic, the Miami Heat have clearly been trying to shed salary with an eye on paying less of the luxury tax. They have already saved about $12 million, and may still be looking for a destination to send Mario Chalmers.
Chalmers is due to make $4.3 million this season and, while he could slot in as a fine backup point guard on other teams, the Heat may have a hard time finding a trade partner as evidenced by the fact that Chalmers, who Miami has reportedly been shopping all summer, is still on the team.
