Taylor takes over play-calling duties after Dolphins fire Lazor

The Miami Dolphins have fired offensive coordinator Bill Lazor, whose unit has struggled all season, scoring more than 20 points in 2-of-11 games.

The firing, which was first reported by Sports Illustrated, has been confirmed by the Sun-Sentinel.

Quarterback coach Zac Taylor will serve as the Dolphins' offensive coordinator for the remaining five games of the 2015 season.

According to a team source, Lazor and interim head coach Dan Campbell had a continuous relationship because of their previous roles, where Campbell answered to Lazor. When the dynamics of those roles shifted after Joe Philbin's hiring there was a period of discomfort.
