Former Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Jonathan Martin has informed the Carolina Panthers that he is retiring.
The Miami Dolphins will hold joint practices this year with the Carolina Panthers. While that alone is newsworthy, as it is the first time the team has had joint pre-season workouts with another team during the Joe Philbin era, it was the potential matchup of the Miami defense against former Dolphins offensive tackle Jonathan Martin that was at least more intriguing for Dolphins fans.
Now, that will now happen.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Martin is planning to file his paperwork to retire from the NFL.
