Dolphins Rumors: Mike Wallace out of Miami after 2014?

In today's edition of Dolphins rumors, Miami Dolphins wide receiver Mike Wallace may be looking at his last season with the team in 2014.

So posits Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk (per information obtained from Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, pointing to the Dolphins' recent show of interest in wide receivers as a possible signal of things to come: "The latest question comes from Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, who reports that the Dolphins are closely scrutinizing several receivers they could take in the first or second round."

"Jackson adds that “if the Dolphins do add a receiver in the first three rounds, it will raise questions about their intentions with Wallace in 2015 and beyond.”'

The Dolphins have been linked to possible first round picks Odell Beckham Jr. (LSU) and Marqise Lee (USC). The Dolphins have also lined up several possible options in the second round and beyond, raising further speculation into Wallace's future with the team.

As David Smith states, the Dolphins will most likely not trade Wallace -- both due to the $8.8 million cap charge they would incur and the fact that there will probably be no suitors for a contract in the neighborhood of $15 million for 2014.

So, the Dolphins could wait it out in 2014, and look to move on from Wallace after the season comes to a close.
