Dolphins News: Dolphins looking for "best 53-man roster"

In Dolphins news tonight, Miami Dolphins general manager Dennis Hickey isn't focused on any particular positions when it comes to the team's offseason activities - he's looking at the big picture.

Per the Dolphins' official website, Hickey was asked at rookie mini-camp if the team planned to find a veteran linebacker to help out their depth in free agency. Hickey's answer had nothing do with the linebacking corps in general:

“For all positions, we’re always looking for players that can help us. We always talk about building the best 53-man roster, and it’s a non-stop process all the way through the summer, through training camp, through the first cuts, even as teams cut through the season or establish their practice squads. We’re always looking to get the best 53-man roster.”

Hickey's philosophy may tip his hand a bit when it comes to the team's rookie class. While every general manager is afraid of letting go of players that they have personally drafted, Hickey probably won't be gun shy if he has to make a move for the betterment of the team's overall talent base.
