3 Players The Miami Dolphins Are Likely To Draft In The 1st Round Are...

The Miami Dolphins narrowly missed out on the playoffs yet again in 2014, and are looking to improve their roster to get over the hump next year. Who are they targeting in the first round of the draft to help them get back to the postseason?

1) CB Trae Waynes, Michigan StateThe 100th Rose Bowl Game - Stanford v Michigan State

Miami wants to upgrade the secondary after acquiring Ndamukong Suh, and Waynes is the best cornerback in the draft. He has ideal size at 6’0″, and is used to working on an island without safety help from his time at Michigan State. Waynes does need to add a few pounds of muscle, but he plays a physical style and is excellent in run support on top of being a shutdown corner.

2) CB Marcus Peters, Washington

Peters has all of the tools you could want in a cornerback, but attitude problems and clashes with the coaching staff led to his dismissal from Washington. If Miami feels comfortable that they can handle his off-field issues, they could develop Peters into the best corner in this class.

3) DeVante Parker, Louisville Cardinals

Parker needs to add some muscle, but his 6’3″ frame and incredible hands have him as a top 10 overall prospect. He’s already an excellent route runner and is great at creating separation, and there's a chance he could fall to the Dolphins. If that's the case, Miami is very likely to pick him over a cornerback to improve their inexperienced receiving core.
