Tigers Rally for 5-4 Win Over Illinois State

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis was opportunistic in rallying for a 5-4 win over Illinois State in the series opener Friday night at FedExPark. The Tigers (2-2) capitalized on four consecutive walks as part of a three-run sixth inning to grab the win.

Sophomore Alex Hicks was brilliant in relief for the second time this season. He came into the game in the second inning and pitched five innings, allowing just one run on three hits with two strikeouts to earn in the win. For the season he has pitched nine innings and allowed just one run.
