MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of Memphis softball team will look to sweep East Carolina Sunday after defeating the Pirates by a score of 5-1 Saturday afternoon. Memphis took the lead early in the first and never trailed as the Tigers improve to 17-12 on the year and 2-0 in American Athletic Conference play.
Kyler Trosclair led the game off with a triple down the left field line to set the tone for the contest. She scored on a single by Lindsay Crowdus to give Memphis the early lead.
The Tigers added two in the third before East Carolina snagged a run back in the fifth.
