PROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Memphis junior has been named the American Athletic Conference Male Runner of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
It is the third time this season a Tigers runner, male or female, has received the weekly accolade. Senior Martina Rodriguez Sala of the women's squad earned the league's Female Runner of the Week recognition Sept. 6 and Sept. 20.
Last Saturday, Sanchez-Pinto led the Tigers men's squad to its second invitational championship in as many weeks. Memphis won the Austin Peay Invitational last Saturday and also claimed the Rhodes College Invitational title Sept.
