Mike Conley is out. None of us wanted to hear those words, but here we are entering December with our max-contract starting point guard on the bench in a suit. What is David Fizdale to do? Should he look in house? Should Chris Wallace make a trade? I think the best move Memphis could make is to sign a free agent that could not only help run the starting unit now, but bolster the bench for the remainder of the season once Conley returns.
Currently the team has no cap space, but could sign a player to a veteran’s minimum deal, using the Hardship Exception.
