Instant Reaction: Grizzlies Dominate Blazers Again, Take 2-0 Series Lead With 97-82 Victory

Portland got off to a quick start in this one and grabbed the early lead, but Memphis took over from the second quarter on, dominating an injury depleted Blazers teams on both ends of the floor. Portland made a run to challenge the Grizzlies in the fourth quarter, but Memphis responded and walked away with the easy victory.

The Grizzlies now lead the series 2-0, winning both games at home.

Turning Point:

Memphis grabbed control of this game with a 16-2 run in the second quarter, turning a two-point deficit into a 12-point lead they would never give back.

Key Stat:

Memphis' defense was on full display in this one as they forced the Trail Blazers into 14 turnovers, while they only turned the ball over six times. The Grizzlies were also able to capitalize on Portland's mistakes, turning those turnovers into 16 points while the Blazers got only five points off Memphis' turnovers.

Memphis MVP:

Mike Conley was able to dictate the flow and tempo of the game by his play on both ends of the floor, and is the biggest reason why the Grizzlies won. He finished with 18 points and six assists.

Portland MVP:

LaMarcus Aldridge did all he could to carry the Blazers with 24 points and 14 rebounds, but he didn't get much help from his teammates.
