Memphis took a 2-0 series lead in the First Round of the Western Conference Playoffs as the Grizzlies defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 97-82 Wednesday night at FedExForum. It marks the first 2-0 postseason series lead in Grizzlies franchise history.
The theme of defense loomed large over the Grizzlies’ victory as they held the Trail Blazers to under 100 points for the second straight game in the series.
Mike Conley and Courtney Lee scored 18 apiece to lead a Memphis squad who held a comfortable lead throughout most of the matchup after getting off to a slow start in the first period.
