3 Reasons To Be Optimistic About The 2015-16 Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies' 2015 NBA Playoffs run came to a crashing halt with three-straight losses to finish up their Western Conference Semifinals series with the eventual-champion Golden State Warriors, but that's no reason for Memphis fans to hang their head as the team continues preparations for the upcoming 2015-16 NBA season. Here's 3 Reasons To Be Optimistic About The 2015-16 Memphis Grizzlies.

3. Offensive Firepower

Jeff Green will be playing in his first full season with Memphis, and should be more fully involved in the offseason after having more time to learn the system. Throw in the additions of Russ Smith and Brandan Wright, as well as the improvement of second-year man Jordan Adams, and the Grizzlies will have more offensive weapons than they've ever had.

2. Veterans Leading The Way

Mike Conley showed how great of a leader he is last postseason by playing with a broken bone in his face against the Warriors while leading the Grizzlies to two straight wins. Gasol and Zach Randolph also headline a battle-tested roster that has accomplished everything they possibly can - except for making the Finals. They'll be more determined than ever to get over that hump in 2016.

1. The Marc Gasol Factor

Some pessimistic Memphis fans thought they might lose their All-Star center and franchise player Marc Gasol in free agency to a big-market team, but he's back in the fold after agreeing to a max contract. He averaged a career-high 17.4 points per game last season, and his expanding offense - along with his defensive dominance and deft passing touch - allow the Grizzlies to match anybody in the league.
