The Maryland football program went to a bowl game in their first season under new head coach D.J. Durkin in 2016.
With that in mind, the Terrapins have a ton of talent entering the 2017 season and analysts around the country are noticing. Athlon Sports released their All-Big Ten conference team and several Maryland players made an appearance.
The Terps had five players on the Third Team of Athlon Sports’ projection.
Ty Johnson appeared as the Third Team running back behind Saquon Barkley (Penn State), Justin Jackson (Northwestern), Rodney Smith (Minnesota), and LJ Scott (Michigan State).
