Austin Fontaine and Evan Gregory just gave Maryland’s recruiting class a huge boost

Maryland football entered Saturday’s spring game with the No. 51 recruiting class in the country. That class consisted of four players, none of which currently have four-star status on 247Sports Composite rankings.

Then, Maryland gained eight stars of pure power up front. Guard Evan Gregory’s commitment came first, then defensive tackle Austin Fontaine’ announced his. Both are big gets for the Terps, and both attend DeMatha Catholic High School just down the road from Maryland’s campus.

From an early recruiting rankings* standpoint, this was a positive development.
