Maryland junior defensive back Will Likely has been named to the watch list for the Paul Hornung Award, which is given annually to the country’s most versatile player.
Likely is one of 44 players on the preseason list a year after he dazzled on both defense and special teams. Likely finished tied for most interceptions in the Big Ten with six, and he set a single season school record with 170 interception yards. He also tied for the most passes defensed in the Big Ten with 15.
