Maryland Football Recruiting Update: Terps Score Commitment From 2016 WR

Maryland is still putting the finishing touches on their 2015 recruiting class, but that isn't stopping Randy Edsall from casting an eye to the future.

Maryland scored a commitment from in-state WR/ATH Darryl 'D.J.' Turner on Saturday, becoming the third player from his recruiting class to commit to the Terrapins. Turner attends Maryland HS powerhouse DeMatha Catholic, and his close relationships with other Maryland targets will serve as a huge boost to the 2016 class. From SB Nation's Testudo Times:

Turner is a part of a loaded DeMatha rising senior class that includes four-star wide receiver Tino Ellis, four-star offensive guard Terrance Davis, four-star offensive tackle JP Urquidez and Harrison. Maryland is very much interested in all of them (as well as close friends Dwayne Haskins and Trevon Diggs), and adding another player from that group should only help the Terps' chances with the rest of them.

At 5'10 and 175 lbs, Turner isn't the biggest WR out there, but his speed and surprising strength make him a high-potential target. It'll be very interesting to see how this adds to Maryland's existing momentum.
